About Kiem
Raised off the grid in the Kootenays and among the old-growth forests of northern Vancouver Island, Kiem’s early life was shaped by nature, community, and an intuitive understanding of care.
Personal adversity deepened this calling. After a severe car accident and snowboarding injury left him in a wheelchair with a fractured hip, it was Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, breathwork, and Pilates that supported his recovery. This experience transformed his path, leading him to formally study Traditional Chinese Medicine and begin treating patients in private practice.
When Kiem moved to Vancouver, he saw a gap in healthcare: modalities working in isolation, patients navigating fragmented systems, and holistic medicine often pushed to the margins. In 2006, he founded Qi with a vision to bring practitioners together under one roof and create a collaborative model that honors body, mind, and spirit equally.
Kiem launched PsyQi in 2023, rooted in the belief that healing is not just about symptom relief, but about addressing underlying trauma, restoring balance, and breaking generational cycles. PsyQi represents a deeper layer of the Qi mission: healing at the level of mind and spirit, addressing trauma, and helping people reconnect with their inner wisdom.
